Where access through the handrails is required, a gate should be fitted (EN 1570-1 5.2.10.11); when gates are outwards opening it is required an electro mechanical interlocks to prevent the lift table to move when gates are not closed; the gates can open only when the table is level with permanent level (EN 1570-1 5.2.11).
